DX Managed

DX Managed is a single-tenant deployment of DX in your Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) account, managed by DX.

This deployment method, commonly referred to as “bring your own cloud”, provides the best of SaaS with enhanced flexibility and control over your cloud environment, and adherence to data sovereignty or security requirements.

With DX Managed, you get assistance from the DX expert team in operating and supporting your DX deployment for a fully managed solution. This includes setup, upgrades, maintenance, monitoring, and on-call for your platform, as well as end-user support and program management.

Overview

DX Managed is a container-based application that is deployed to an AWS sub-account or GCP project that you own and DX manages. DX will not have access to other sub-accounts or projects, nor your organization-level settings within the cloud service provider.

The initial provisioning of resources can be performed using a cross-account IAM role, or via a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) that works with your team. Read more on how DX Managed works inside either cloud provider:

DX can fully manage all aspects of your app cluster, including installation, upgrades, maintenance, monitoring, on-call, as well as user support with report creation and data integrations.

Ongoing management and support requires DX personnel to have network access to the DX application. This can be achieved through several different means, including forward deployed engineers (FDEs). Please consult with your DX account manager to determine the best approach for your organization.
